Suppliers of Safety Data Sheet Distribution Obligations

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has reminded suppliers of their obligation under REACH to provide Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) to professional users where required.
HSA Inspectors have identified instances where SDSs are not always being distributed appropriately to professional users through the supply chain, with particular attention drawn to wholesale and retail settings.
SDSs may be provided electronically, including through a direct link on a supplier’s website or via a QR code on the product label that links directly to the relevant SDS.
Irish companies supplying professional users, particularly retailers and wholesalers, should review their current arrangements and ensure appropriate measures are in place to meet SDS distribution requirements.
